What is the curriculum for the program?

The program consists of 30 semester hours (10 courses) with a Logistics core of 21 semester hours. In addition to the core, students may choose from two specialty tracks: Logistics Information Systems or Management.

Logistics Core
LSM 600 – Supply Chain Governance
LSM 601 – Procurement and Materials Management
LSM 602 – Management of Distribution and Inventory
LSM 603 – Supply Chain and Logistic Strategies
LSM 604 – Supply Chain Simulation Modeling and Analysis
LSM 610 – Case Studies in Logistics Capstone
MGT 603 – Financial Management (Required for both tracks)

Management Track
MGT 600 – Operations Planning and Control
MGT 601 – Global Economics
MGT 602 – Strategic Management and Leadership

Logistics Information Systems Track
LIS 600 – Logistics Information Systems Management*
LIS 601 – Logistics/Supply Chain Information Assurance*
LIS 602 – Enterprise Resource Planning*
*Course will contain no less than 30% SAP content

What is the format for the program?

The M.S. in GLSCM will be offered completely online with no on-site requirements. The program will be offered in a cohort model meaning that students will enter the program together and remain together throughout the program following a prescribed schedule of courses. This schedule will include 2 courses (6 credit hours) per semester which is considered half-time for graduate programs. Each new cohort will begin once a year with the Fall Semester.

Is the GMAT required for admission to the program?

Either a GMAT or a professional portfolio is required for admission. If the GMAT is elected, a score of 425 is required for admission to the GLSCM program. In lieu of the GMAT, applicants may submit a professional portfolio demonstrating 3 years of professional work experience in the field of logistics, acquisitions, operations or supply chain management. The objective of the portfolio is to provide evidence of an applicant’s ability to be successful in a graduate program.

Where can I take the GMAT?

Applicants can visit www.mba.com for all information related to the GMAT including testing dates and locations. Simply choose Athens State University as your school. This will ensure that your official score report is sent directly to the university.

What if my bachelor’s degree is not in a business-related field?

Applicants who have completed a bachelor’s degree outside of the field of business must complete the following pre-requisite courses before they will be admitted to the GLSCM program.

  • EC 310 Modern Economics
  • GBA 305 Statistical Methods of Business
  • MG 350 Financial Management

What is the tuition for graduate courses?

Coursework for the GLSCM program will be offered completely online with an affordable flat tuition rate of $325/credit hour. One 3-credit hour course would be $975. There is a Student Fee of $25 per semester. The only additional cost would be textbooks.

Will there be financial aid available for this program?

Students can apply for unsubsidized student loans for the graduate program. Please visit the Office of Student Financial Aid website for specific information.

How many courses are required for this program?

The GLSCM program consists of 10 courses (3 semester hours each). The Logistics core includes 7 courses. Additionally, students may choose from one of two tracks: Logistics Information Systems or Management. Each track consists of 3 courses. Students electing the LIS option will earn SAP Certification, a leading ERP software used extensively in industry.
